Visitor Information

Parking

When you get to Historic Huguenot Street, please park in the parking lot on Broadhead Avenue (across from 6 Broadhead Avenue). Following the directional signs from the parking lot onto the carriage path, you will arrive at the DuBois Fort Visitor Center. At the Visitor Center, you can purchase tour tickets, browse special exhibitions, watch our new informational video, and visit the Museum Shop.

Accessibility

Historic Huguenot Street strives to make its grounds, exhibits, and programs accessible to everyone, wherever possible, with understandable limitations given the historic nature of the buildings and grounds. For more information about the accessibility of museum houses, please contact the Main Office at (845) 255-1660.  It is helpful to inform us in advance if you plan to visit the site with someone who has limited mobility so that we can ensure we are prepared.

Photography & Videotaping

Photography of the grounds and house exteriors is permitted, provided that the images are for personal use only. Neither videotaping nor tripods of any type are allowed on tours.

For Commercial Use
Because Historic Huguenot Street is a private organization, we cannot allow photographs for commercial purposes without express and limited permission in advance. Please click here for Historic Huguenot Street’s current policies for commercial use, and email media@huguenotstreet.org to request permission for interior and/or commercial photographs.

Family Association Members: FA members may be permitted to take non-flash photography of the interiors of the houses for use in FA publications only (meaning newsletters, bulletins, email blasts to members, etc.). FA members must email media@huguenotstreet.org and obtain written authorization before photos are taken and used for FA purposes.

Use of Grounds

The museum encourages the use of its grounds for outdoor activities, but asks that visitors be mindful of the history of the space. Please take extra care with the buildings and other outdoor objects located on museum grounds. Activities such as using a metal detector are not permitted.

For Your Comfort

Keep in mind: our museum houses can be a bit colder than outdoors, and some of the museum houses are not heated. You'll also want to wear comfortable shoes, as the houses are stretched out over an area about the size of eight city blocks.

Food & Beverage

There is a shaded picnic grove on the grounds, and seats available at the Visitor Center. However, out of concern for the preservation of our collections, food and beverages are not allowed in the museum houses. Huguenot Street is located just a short walk from several local eateries that cater to a variety of dietary needs - HHS staff will be happy to recommend our favorites.
