Save the Hudson Valley’s History Today

Since 1894, Historic Huguenot Street has worked to save the iconic buildings, historic documents, and artifacts that tell not only a uniquely Hudson Valley story, but also the story of our shared American history. Today, because of people like you, we continue to work tirelessly to preserve this history for future generations.

As our summer archaeological field school returns this summer, we are reminded of the importance of protecting the nearly 9,000 years of human history on Huguenot Street. We cannot save this history alone. Historic Huguenot Street depends on private funds – contributions from friends like you – in order to save this history and discover even more.

The record is clear, when you show your support preservation becomes possible! Below is just a small sample of the preservation projects that people like you have helped to complete:

• The restoration of the Jean Hasbrouck House’s original 18th-century timber frame;

• The repair of the Freer House’s rear roof;

• The preservation and restoration of the site’s original burial ground and gravestones;

• The restoration of the DuBois Fort’s north stone wall and floors;

• The repainting and restoration of the Deyo House;

• And the preservation of sensitive archaeology sites that preserve the history of Esopus Munsee community, the region’s first peoples.
